07:53 It has been a dry night and a fine, dry, day is forecast with the mercury expected to rise to 21 degrees.
The official going is Good to Firm (watered).
8mm of water were applied on Sunday / Monday.
There are currently no non-runners.
08:18 We have our first non-runner of the day as Burns Night is out of the 15:45 with a runny nose, I know how he feels.
12:31 Good afternoon from a very hot, sunny Beverley. The going remains good to firm with a going stick of 9.1
In the time it has taken me to get here we have another six non-runners bringing the total to seven.
We get underway at 14:15.
13:16 It’s hard to believe a week ago was day one of Royal Ascot and we couldn’t ask for a more stark contrast today.
For the gentlemen, instead of top hat and tails it is vest and, dare I say, even topless.

Although the girls still make an effort.
Punters are keen to see what the tipsters have suggested.

13:32 Another non-runner
13:59 We get underway with the Racing Again On Friday 2 July Maiden Auction Stakes, an extended 7f contest in which six line up an, Ozzies Storm Cats doesn’t.
The favourite, Paper Dreams, is a very narrow filly.
A negative for Laffraaj, who was getting coltish in the pre-parade ring.
14:29 This did not look to be much of a contest on paper beforehand and in that respect it did not disappoint.
It was a muddling sort of race in which Spartic was the early leader and Beyeh missed the break.
Dispol Snapper was to the fore, as was the favourite Paper Dreams.
By the time they had run two furlongs the tardy starting Beyeh was also with the leaders.
Turning for home and the race had finally taken some sort of shape with the favourite, Paper Dreams, and second favourite, Beyer, well clear.
Paper Dreams had the advantage until Adrian Nicholls asked Beyer for an effort at the furlong marker and the filly soon pulled clear.
Paper Dreams was unable to respond, unlike Spartic who rallied under Jack Doyle and was closing on the leader.
The line came in time for Beyeh, who came home a neck clear of the closing Spartic.
They came home 4½ clear of the favourite.
14:30 Next up is the 1½ mile St John Ambulance Claiming Stakes with six going to post.
14:58 Favourite backers who do not know their racing must have been sweating during this contest and not just due to the hot weather.
Favourite Kames park was settled stone last by Paul Eddery and, for most of the contest, looked like making no effort to progress.
Indeed for most of the contest they settled in Indian file with Mujada setting the pace, followed by Slip, Dispol Diva, Chocolate Caramel, Kwami Biscuit and the favourite.
It wasn‘t until well into the turn for home that the race changed when Kames Park made some progress.
Two out slip slipped into the lead, with Chocolate Caramel and Kames Park following.
A furlong out Chocolate Caramel made a move for home but his advantage was short lived as Paul Eddery sent Kames Park to the front in a decisive move.
Chocolate Caramel attempted to respond but could only get to within 1¾ lengths at the finish.
Dispol Diva made late progress to come home third.
15:06 Race three is the near as makes no difference 1m 2f Siemens Chemical Express Handicap, which sees seven going to post.
15:29 A good finish to our third race and more joy for favourite backers, as well as a hard luck story.
Iron Out was first out of the stalls but Umverti was soon in front, taking them along at a steady pace.
Iron Out settled in second with Patavium and Fujin Dancer vying for third and fourth.
They were followed by the favourite Danehillsundance, with Ahlawy (who almost fell out of the stalls) and General Tufto in rear.
As in the last race the contest came to life as they turned for home. Umverti was still leading but the favourite was moving into a challenging position.
Another making progress was General Tufto but rider Billy Cray misjudged and hoped for a gap against the far rail, which never materialised.
Approaching the furlong marker Robert Winston asked his mount for an effort and he set off for home.
There was a battle royal for second spot between Umverti and Patavium.
Meanwhile Billy Cray had bought General Tufto to the centre and having daylight was running on best of all – but had been left with too much to do.
At the business end Danehillsundance came home three parts of a length clear of Umverti, who beat Patavium by a neck.
15:37 It is back to seven furlongs for race four as 12 go to post for the Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Handicap.
Kladester, who went early to post, was getting a little headstrong in the parade ring. Fahey was swishing his tail.
The Midshipmaid carries 3lb overweight.
16:04 A cracking finish with the favourite, Polish World, making all and just holding on in a blanket finish.
Pretty Orchid was closing fast and almost managed to overhaul the front running favourite. Indeed she can be considered an unlucky loser as she had to squeeze through to get a clear run.
It took judge Brian Goodwill almost five minutes to sort out third place with Fathey eventually getting the call over Northern Flyer.
North Shadow was prominent for most of the contest, only to fade in the latter stages.
The Midshipmaid missed the break and Muscar missed the break so badly he could have run in the following race.
16:11 Race five is the extended 1 mile Racing UK On Sky 432 Medial Auction Maiden Stakes in which six lime up.
Presidium Galaxy was slightly on her toes.
16:29 This was more of a match than a race with the top two in the betting, Ezra Church and Ajool, having their own private battle miles clear of their rivals.
The pair were upsides one another until the odds-on favourite Ezra Church pulled a couple of lengths clear.
It looked like race over as favourite backers prepared to form an orderly queue.
However nobody and told Ajool and although looking very untidy, almost irresolute, she managed to get back upsides the favourite and in the final half furlong she pulled clear.
Coming back in winning jockey Tadgh O’Shea admitted he thought he had been beaten a furlong out.
In the other race it was debutant Slinky Malinki who took third place, having missed the break, albeit 13 lengths behind the front pair. She is sure to come on for the run.
Presdidum Galaxy had lead the chasing bunch for most of the race but eventually came home last.
16:32 We finish up with a brace of 5f sprints. First up is Division 1 of the Stars Of The Future Apprentice Handicap, in which a dozen line up.
16:37 Commander Wish is pulling hard in the parade ring and Head To Head and Menediva are a little bit on their toes.
16:58 A really messy race with runners all over the place.
None more so than the favourite Darcey’s Pride who began on the favoured stands rail and who came across nearer the stands rail, before drifting towards the far side again.
Helping Hand, from stall 10, hit the front approaching three out and was never headed, although the favourite, running on well inside the final furlong came to within a neck.
Alother running on well late was Port Ronan who was a further neck back in third spot.
Rio Sands, yet another doing their best work at the end to come home fourth.
Arguably the favourite may have won had he kept straight.
17:02 Our final contest is Division 2 of the 5f Handicap.
17:31 Another messy contest where the lead changed hand several times.
We almost had another non-runner as Call The Law was being a real madam behind the stalls and full credit to the stalls team for persevering and getting her in.
Prigsnov Dancer pinged out of the stalls but was soon headed by Take That.
Media Jury then had a go in front.
Two out the final charge came from Pinball who soon opened up a reasonable gap and looked to be home and hosed.
The only challenger seemingly able to go after her was Exceedingly Good who began to close a furlong out.
However it was Foreign Rhythm who emerged from the pack, rocketing along and closing on the leader with every stride.
It was another case of the line just coming just in time as the joint favourite Paintball held on by a fast diminishing head from Foreign Rhythm.
Exceedingly Good came home third.
The other joint favourite, Azygous, made some eye catching progress half-way but flattered to deceive and he eventually came home tenth.
17:37 Well that’s it from Beverley. It may not have been the same quality as at Royal Ascot but still a good afternoons entertainment nonetheless and the locals seemed to have had a good afternoon in the Yorkshire sunshine.
We had planned to bring live coverage from tomorrow afternoons racing at Worcester but the combination of racing and an England football match does not appeal.
So our next coverage will be from Leicester on Thursday evening.
From a lovely Beverley a very good evening.
