17:18 A postscript from our last race. Jockey Tolley Dean has now ridden out his claim, well done to him.
That is is from a very quiet and very wey Kempton Park.
Our next live coverage depends on the weather.
From Kempton a very good evening.
17:11 A six furlong sprint to conclude the card.
Fitzwarren set a strong pace and soon folded as they entered the home straight.
Straight Faced and Reigning Monarch both came with late runs but these were trumped by the run of Jessica Wigmo down the stand side who made her rivals look leaden hoofed.
An impressive win.
16:40 A seven furlong handicap for our penultimate contest.
Admiral’s Way under Greg Fairley attempted to make all but it is no great surprise to report he was “done” by a late finisher, this time in the shape of Red Rudy who had a nice run against the far rail under Adam Kirby.
Downhill Skier ran on even more impressively to take second place and must be one for the notebook.
The favourite Surwaki tracked the leader but did not have enough to take the spoils.
16:15 It is getting dull here and the floodlights are on.
16:09 A fillies mile for our fourth contest, although not to be confused with a more well known fillies mile at Ascot. I cannot see any of these fillies ever running at Ascot in any race.
Unusually for the all weather her at Kempton we had an all the way winner in the shape of Moon Crystal who actually put in a brave run under Jim Crowley.
A furlong out it looked to be an open race with four of the five runners in with a chance. However the winner plugged on and held off challenges from Hallingdal, who ran on well, Motivated Choice and
Perfect Act. The only one without a chance was Bavarica.
15:37 Our largest field of the afternoon, a class six 1m 2f handicap.
Golden Square set the pace under Adam Kirby but was headed in the final half furlong, significantly the rider was carrying 1lb overweight.
The pace was a reasonable one and behind the winner Itsawindup tracked him in second place before running on in the home straight to take the spoils, after Hatch A Plan had come with run to take the lead a furlong out.
Faraday was prominent as they turned for home but dropped away.
14:59 Something of a shock result in our second contest in which the odds-on favourite, Longboat Key from the Mark Johnston stable was well and truly beaten.
As is often the norm with Johnston runners the favourite set off in front, at a steady pace.
The field were in Indian file most of the race with Longboat Key leading, followed by Bolanderi, Ensnare, Clovis and Super King.
That was the order until they turned for home as first of all Bolanderi came alongside the leader, although the challenge was short lived. However Clovis came with an even better run, soon passing the leader a furlong out and winning with plenty in hand.
The favourite did not seem to do anything wrong, he was just beaten by a better horse on the day.
14:42 This is turning into a depressing afternoons racing. It is now raining steadily, the atmosphere is zilch.
Only three layers in the ring - is this what they had in mind when all weather began?
14:19 Racing is going off five minutes late to dovetail with the other meetings.
A five furlong handicap to get us underway.
Sir Loin was first out of the stalls but soon headed by Head To Head who looked as though he was going to go for an almost all the way victory.
However, as often happens there was a late finisher coming along to spoil the party. This time in the shape of Hollow Jo, who came with a well timed run under Fergus Sweeny.
The winner was sixth yesterday, hampered when his blindfold was not remove din time. Today there were no such problems and he ran well.
Head To Head held on for second with Lady Bahia taking third.
A massive crowd of around 50 here at Kempton this afternoon.
13:16 Good afternoon from Kempton where we have an additional all weather fixture.
The weather is overcast with some drizzle in the air. The going, of course, is Standard
We have just the one non-runner.
