17:20 That's it from a sunny Bath, an extra meeting transferred from Great Leighs.
From a sunny Bath good evening.
17:18 A 5f handicap to end proceedings and Captain Carey overcame both a tardy start and a 6lb penalty for an all weather win last week, to take the race with ease by two lengths.
Bees River set the pace along with Billy Beetroot and Handcuff and they looked to have the race between them.
However Tom McLaughlin looked relaxed on Captain Carey and when asked for an effort 1½ furlongs out soon passed all his rivals in a matter of strides.
This winner looks to be another for the notebook.
It was very tight for the runners up spot with judge Di Clarke having to call a photograph to award Billy Beetroot a nose decision over Bees River.
16:51 A report on Boscage's performance - jockey Royston Ffrench reported the colt had become upset in the stalls.
16:41 Back to 5½ furlongs for our fifth race and a tight betting heat with three of the field separated by 1/3 of a point.
Harbour Blues set the early pace with the favourite Espy missing the break badly.
Turning for home the field were well bunched and at the furlong pole there were five abreast in front with the other pair just behind.
It was the two fillies who managed to get their heads in front with Carcinetto just getting her head in front of Artistic Licence, three parts of a length separating them with Blue Jack a neck back in third.
16:08 There may only have been four runners in our fourth race but it turned out to be quite a cracking little contest.
As is often the case with Mark Johnston’s runners, the favourite Boscage set the pace, followed by the second favourite Red Somerset. Fanjura was settled third and Elna Bright followed his three rivals.
Two furlongs out Boscage started sending out distress signals and Red Somerset was soon in the lead and in-running backers must have been piling on.
However the other pair were not content not to go down without a fight and Fanjura and, more impressively, Elna Bright both ran on well to battle out the lead.
It was a good go for the line but Elna Bright had most in hand to come home half a length ahead of Fanjura with Red Somerset three parts of a length back in third and the favourite a few lengths further back in last place.
No surprise but the stewards have just summonsed Mark Johnson for a chat.
15:30 Our longest race of the afternoon a 1m 2f maiden fillies contest, which saw Onemix sent off the odds-on favourite.
Favourite backers never had any worries as, initially Teeky set the pace, but tracked by the jolly.
Five furlongs out and Michael Hills bought his fathers filly to the front and was able to win as he pleased, the 3¼ length not really doing justice to what was a workman like performance.
Teeky came home second with Fondant Fancy in third, a position she held throughout the race.
Am I Blue having only her second run was doing her best work in the closing stages to claim fourth.
14:53 Only six went to post for our second, a 5½ furlong fillies handicap.
It was quite a tight affair with three of the field – favourite Towy Valley, Just Joey and Princess Rose Anne all sharing the lead. Belle Bellino and Leading Edge tracked the front three, whilst the slow starting Berrymead was in the rear.
Of the front runners the favourite was first to crack at the furlong marker leaving Princess Rose Anne and Just Joey to battle it out to the line with the former prevailing by a head.
Berrymead, under owner and trainer Ann Stokell made late progress to grab third spot, relegating the favourite to fourth.
A race where the handicapper did a decent job but one where nothing really stands out for the future.
The winner was trainer Jim Best's only runner of the day and the winners last win was on the ice at St Moritz, over four furlongs.
14:19 A two year old maiden to get us under way and eight of the eleven were making their racecourse debut.
Interestingly the first two places went to those with experience with the favourite Chicita Banana, trained by George Baker and ridden by Tony Culhane. The pace was set by True Red under Alan Nunro but the favourite was on her quarters throughout, taking the lead inside the final furlong and winning almost comfortably in the end.
However there was a real eyecatcher in the race and it wasn’t one of the first pair. Avonvalley missed the break terribly and started the race a good five lengths behind her rivals but then came with a rattling late run to take third place. With a less tardy start we could have been looking at a winning debut.
Avonvalley is definitely one for the notebook.
13:43 A going update - the going is good to firm, good in places
13:21 Well naughty me for being a doubter, the young lady was right - it is now a beautiful sunny afternoon here at Bath.
50 minutes to our first contest and certainly a lot less frenetic than at Aintree.

12:40 Good afternoon from a very foggy Bath, although I am told the visibility is much better than it was half an hour ago. I am also told the weather was the same yesterday and it was perfectly clear by 2:00 - so fingers crossed.
This is a meeting transferred from Great Leighs, rather small fields and we will bring you our tips shortly.
Only teh one non-runner at the moment.
The going at Bath is Good, good to firm in paces
