18:00 Well that's it from Royal Ascot on a damp evening - see you tomorrow.
17:40 The closing 28 runner Buckingham Palace Stakes was the usual cavalry charge and once again put paid to any suggestion of a draw bias.
As expected the field spilt in two with the majority opting for the stand side.
Come the line the front runners were spread across the course. With Regal Parade, trained by Dandy Nicholls and ridden by claimer Ahmed Ajtebi taking the prize on the near side.
There was a photograph for second place with Dhaular Dhar on the far side just getting the better of Jedburgh on the near side. Fourth place went to Border Music.
The winning jockey hails from the UAE and it is believed he is first winning jockey to come from there.
17:20 The rain has finally started falling, not too heavily thank goodness.
Simon Holt has drawn the short straw in the last with 28 runners charging down over seven furlongs
17:05 It isn’t often that a race leaves me speechless but the performance of Patkai in the Queens Vase was simply awesome as the 6/4 favourite destroyed the field by seven lengths.
Ryan Moore was happy to sit near the rear, covered up, for the majority of the race.
Two furlongs out he unleashed Patkai and in a matter of strides the race was over - for a two mile race the pace of the winner was absolutely devastating .
For the record the places went to Amerigo and Gravitation.
Sir Michael Stoute was pleased with his runner and there was even a flicker of a smile on the face of Ryan Moore.
16:30 Finally a flicker of a smile from the bookmakers as Steve Drowne takes his third win of the week with a pillar to post victory on Supaseus.
It has to be said he looked a sitting duck as Frankie Dettorie stalked him on Emirates Skyline, looking very comfortable tracking the leader. However the Godolphin runner quickly faded in the home straight.
That was not the end of the leaders worries though as the challengers lined up to snatch the spoils but the winner fought on bravely to hang on by a length, with a blanket finish for the minor honours, which went to Many Volumes and Pinpoint.
There were already five non-runners when Soapy Danger was withdrawn on the advice of the vets at the start.
16:10 Another caning for the bookies in the last, although not favourite the winning filly was very well backed.
15:55 For the fourth day running the big race of the day has crossed the Irish Sea, however this time it is not the Ballydoyle team who take the spoils.
Instead it is Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning getting a double on the day as Lush Lashes took the Coronation Cup in some style.
For the second race running Frankie Dettori attempted to make all, this time on the Mark Johnston trained Nahoodh, trying front running tactics for the first time.
Turning for home the challengers attacked and for a while it looked as though Infallible was going to take the race but Manning had the move covered. Inside the final half furlong Lush Lashes showed her superiority to take the race by an increasing 3¼ lengths, responding well when challenged.
Speaking after the race trainer Jim Bolger said he thought the 1½ miles at Epsom may have been too far but in the end she was defeated by the course not the distance. As if to prove the point he went on to say the Irish Oaks at the Curragh would be her likely next target.
Carribean Sunset took third place.
The well backed favourite, Spacious was a never nearer fourth.
Speaking after the race Kevin Manning said he always thought Lush Lashes was a Group One filly and that at Newmarket she “missed the kick.”
When asked about the month he has had he conceded it has been “a fantastic month” and he was looking forward to the Irish Derby later in the moth.
15:30 A significant non-runner in the fourth where the likely favourite Bushman is a non-runner.
15:15 It may only have been a Group 2 race but the crowd at Ascot were finally treated to a Dettori flying dismount as he rode Campanologist to a pillar to post victory in the King Edward VII Stakes, giving the pilot his 40th everRoyal Ascot victory.
Sir Michael Stout’s Conduit, an impressive winner at Epsom on Derby Day was sent off the 11/4 favourite. Jockey Ryan Moore was content to settle the favourite near the rear launching his challenge a furlong out. Briefly it seemed he may prevail but Dettori had the challenger in his sights and managed to hold on by ¾ length.
Top Lock who had tracked the leader for the majority of the race finished third.
The big disappointment of the race was John Gosden’s Bronze Canyon who by-passed the Derby for today’s contest. The cold missed the break, was almost always in the rear and never in contention.
Speaking after the race Dettori said he had taken some ribbing from his weighing room colleagues.
He said he was “quietly confident” before the race and he is certainly more confident of Campanologist’s chances than he is of the Italian football team in Sunday’s European Semi-Final.
Campanologist’s trainer Saeed Bin Surror, said the horse had “improved” and, more worryingly for his rivals said the horse “will improve further with time”.
14:40 Let’s carry on where we left off yesterday with another kicking for the bookmakers in the opening Albany Stakes.
The very well backed Cuis Ghaire (pronounced Cush Gara) took the first race although he had to work very hard to gain victory. Certainly not running as an odds on shot should, in truth it looked as though she was unhappy with the ground. Bookmakers are now offering 8/1 for next years 1,000 Guineas.
Finally running on inside the final furlong she bravely held off the late charges from Penny’s Gift and Danidh Dubai, who was really on her toes going down.
An eyecatcher from the race was African Skies, having only her second outing. She was very fractious in the stalls and very slowly away, yet she eventually finished a close fourth and is sure to improve.
Trainer Jim Bolger says the filly will now have a short break. He is confident she will get the mile easily and even possibly ten furlongs.
13:15 Some news from the bookmakers.
Paddy Power say they took a hiding yesterday and they have four bogie horses today, which they want to see beaten. They are Cuis Ghare, Bronze Canyon, Spacious and Zaahid.
The first of the four, Cuis Ghare looks like being the best backed horse of the day and is tipped to go off odds-on.
The 10’s available for Psalm (representing the O’Brien / Murtagh combo in the big race) with some layers has gone and is now 7’s or 8’s.
In the Wolferton there has been some steady money for Buccellati.
In the finale a few outsiders have seen some each way support, most notably Jedburgh, Meydan Dubai, Our Faye and Prior Warning.
11:25 I take back my earlier comments about the weather. I have just emerged from the bunker that is the media centre and it has clouded over with a distinct chill in the air.
Even worse the clouds are a nasty grey colour.
We also have a couple more non-runners bringing the total to eight.
10:20 Good morning from day four of Royal Ascot where after yesterday's 73,000 crowd we are only expecting around 60,000 today.
So far the forecast looks to be wrong as the sun is shining and there is no sign of the heavy rain that was predicted.
Currently we have six non-runners, details on the right.
