Newmarket - Rowley

Known as headquarters the Rowley Mile is the premier flat racing track. All of it’s meetings are of a high quality. The feature meetings are the Guineas Festival held in early May and the Champions Meeting late in the season.

Course Characteristics:
The Rowley Mile course is a boomerang shape with a right handed dog-leg 1¼ miles from the finish. Generally flat with a dip two furlongs out. Races of 1m 4f and longer involve a right handed dog leg.
A very fair, wide course, galloping horses are favoured.
Admission (2009 prices, 2010 prices to be confirmed):
There is a three enclosure policy, Members (£22 - £40), Grandstand (£16 - £25) and Garden £8 - £10.
Annual membership 2010: New £380, renewal £380. Junior (under 21 on 15/04/09) new £180 and renewal £180
Location:
Newmarket is about 15 miles east of Cambridge. Approach via A45 from Cambridge of from the A11 off J9 of the M11. Head towards Newmarket and then follow the signs.
Ease of public transport access: Poor (limited rail service to Newmarket then taxi or rail to Cambridge or Ipswich then taxi)
