North of Newcastle in the Gosforth Area, the racecourse is a left handed (anti-clockwise), triangular shaped circuit of 1¾ miles. There is a spur on the home straight allowing for races up to 1 mile on a straight course. The home straight is steadily uphill.
Major races are The Northumberland Plate (Flat) and the Fighting Fifth Hurdle (Jump)
Newcastle stages meetings every month of the year.

Newcastle operates a two enclosure policy, Premier (£18 - £37) and Grandstand (£13 -£22).
Location:
Located north of the city it is close to the A1 junction with the A1056, which also links with the A19.
Ease of public transport access: Moderate (Rail to Newcastle them Metro to bus link)
