Hexham is perched on top of the hill just south of the town.

Course Characteristics:
It is an odd shaped track with what is effectively two oval circuits sharing the same back straight.
Hurdle races are run entirely on the outer circuit whilst chases are run on the inner circuit, except on the final circuit where the outer course is used. The circuit is about 1½ miles round.
There are some steep undulations, placing the emphasis very much on stamina.
The course is left handed (anti-clockwise) and it stages just jump racing.
Admission:
Hexham operates a two enclosure policy. Members £15 and Tattersalls £10.
Annual membership: £110 single, £180 double, £90 senior single and £150 senior double
Location:
Hexham is located about 20 miles west of Newcastle and the racecourse is located 1½ miles south of the town. Just follow the direction signs.
Ease of public transport access: Poor (Rail to Hexham then taxi)
