Galway
Summary
Famous, or should that be infamous, for its summer racing festival held late July / early August, Galway is a dual purpose course on the west coast of the country. The right handed course of one mile and two furlongs, with a steep decline into the dip where the last two fences are situated. These fences are famous for being the closest two fences on any racecourse in the world. There is a sharp incline to the finish line.
Admission:
For meetings other than the Summer Festival, admission is €15, OAP's and students €10.
For the Summer Festival admission is €20 - €30, with reserved seating available for an extra €20. OAP's and students are, again, €10.
Location:
The course is situated 5km outside Galway city and 3km from Galway airport.
Shuttle bus services to Galway city operate during the festival.
