Ffos Las
Summary (for full review click link below)
The first turf course to open in the UK for eighty years. Ffos Las will be a dual purpose course providing both flat and national hunt racing.
The course is situated 25 minutes from the M4 and is 15 miles from Carmarthen and 10 miles from Llanelli (which is also where the nearest station is).
There are brown signs in the areas which will provide direction to the course.
Course Characteristics:
Ffos Las is a very flat track, left handed (anti-clockwise) of just under 1m 5f in circumference. It looks to be a very well drained, galloping track.
There is a spur on the home straight to allow races up to six furlongs and a spur on the back straight for 1m 4f starts on the flat.
The course stages both flat and national hunt racing.
Until there have been a number of meetings it is not possible to discern any draw bias.
Admission (2010 Prices):
There is a single enclosure policy at Ffos Las with tickets costing either £17 or £19 depending on the meeting. A three day ticket for the August Festival is available for £35.
Annual membership: £300
Location:
Situated between Llanelli and Kidwelly there are brown signs in the local area to aid drivers.
Ease of public transport access: moderate (Rail to Llanelli or Carmarthen then bus no 197)
