It looks as though the disappointing Oaks favourite Lush Lashes is destined to run in the Coronation Stakes on Friday.

Dropping the filly back to a mile her trainer, Jim Bolger, has not ruled out stepping her up in distance again later in the season.

The current favourite for the Coronation Cup is Infallible, who was last seen finishing fourth in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket, a race in which Lush Lashes finished sixth.

Michael Bell’s Art Connoisseur steps up in trip to in Tuesday's Coventry Stakes.

The winner both of his starts over 5f this term, winning well on  his seasonal debut at Leicester before showing a devastating turn of foot at Newmarket last time.

Trainer Bell said,  "We think he's going to be better over six furlongs and he's been working well and is in good form," he said.

"We are fully convinced that he's going to be a better horse over six and we're keen to run him on faster ground as well.

ASCOT clerk of the course Chris Stickels is planning to water the straight course on Sunday evening if the forecast rain does not fall.

The going at the track is good, with some good to firm patches, but Stickels is anticipating showers during Sunday afternoon.

Stickels said: "At present the course is good, with some good to firm in places.

"We are forecast to get some showers today but if they don't materialise we will water the straight course tonight."
